Jacek grew up in an artistic environment as his mother was a artist who painted extensively during his early childhood. She continues to do so. Jacek's aunt is Curator for the National Art Gallery of Poland so artists, artistic life, conversation with other artists, gala exhibitions and openings were all familiar to him.
Jacek imigrated from Poland with his family in 1981 during the Marshal Law of Communist era. In 1994 in Toronto he enrolled in the Ontario College of Art and Design; where he met his beautiful wife, Agneiszka, who is also a painter. He was accepted to OCAD on the strength of his paintings. but graduated in 1998 as an Interdisciplinary Student, and sculpture/installation was his focus. These two disciplines seem to cross paths again and again.

Since his second year at OCA he has had representation in some of Toronto's most prestigous galleries, such as the avante-garde Meg Gallery in the Olga Korper complex.
Committed to painting as a career has proven very successful for Jacek Rudnicki. His work is collected and represented throughout Canada and the United States.
Few artists in the field of abstract have mastered their craft as successfully as Polish-born Jacek Rudnicki. He demonstrates a command of the canvas that is untouched by many of his contemporaries; perfectly-placed elements blend seamlessly into breathtaking backgrounds.
There is a deeper, somewhat philosophical meaning to the work; a moment in time caught in the threads of the canvas, an expression of self, and a certain level of consciousness that invites the viewer to offer interpretation.
"As I paint, I’m not trying to imbue the work with hidden messages or symbolic ideas," says Jacek. "As I paint, I lose all sense of time or circumstance…the ideas I gravitate to, which could be said to underlay the work in general, are ideas of existence, of thresholds into uncertainty, of the many variables that form a nexus for any given moment or occurrence."
In the past decade and a half, Jacek has had numerous solo and group exhibitions across Canada and the United States. His works appear in private and corporate collections all across North America.
