Adrian deRooy was born in Holland, and attended the Ontario College of Art. After graduating with honours, he persued a career in advertising.

His style is versatile, focusing on several different styles that merge and intertwine. This creative process in constantly evolving, resulting in a truly unique characteristics to all of his paintings.

His ability to capture light through the use of vibrant colours and to express varying moods and feelings within each painting is quite remarkable. There is mystery and power in all of de Rooy's work.
